Things I did when I wasn’t blogging
I haven’t been blogging for a while. I’ve still been reading (and I’ve got some mini reviews coming this weekend) and as for what else I’ve been doing, well…
I’ve been teaching myself how to crochet these guys.
Somewhat successfully, but as you can tell they’re all different sizes despite all being from the same pattern.
I got the pattern for the ninjas from Creepy Cute Crochet by Christen Haden. It took me a little while to get the hang of things as I didn’t know how to crochet when I started. I made at least 3 ninjas before I learnt how to decreases stitches properly (youtube tutorial videos were my friends), and now I’ve reached the point where I can make one from start to finish in just under 3 hours.
So really, the only logical course of action was to do a ninja photoshoot.
And to continue the theme, I made a ninja cake – this was ridiculously easy to do. If anyone would like me to do a step by step on how I did it just let me know.
I got a sewing machine.
And promptly made a patchwork cushion for my dad from all his old uniform t-shirts.
We got a new fish. His name is Farnsworth. He lives with Scruffy the snail but is in a separate tank from our goldfish Fry and Leela – points to anyone who guesses what show influenced those names.
Aside from the crafting I got another job (same company, different position) which is always very exciting and I’m learning a lot. Always good.
And finally, I started – and completed as of today – the NHS Couch to 5K programme. That needs a wee bit more detail, so more on that another day.
