2016 was a weird year. It was definitely a year that went out kicking, screaming and flailing its fists.
The biggest thing that happened was easily moving into my new home with my fiance. They’re not kidding when they say that buying a house is one of the most stressful things to do. They’re really not. But we moved and that’s the important thing.
I did manage to achieve a few personal blogging goals last year. I did 29 blog posts and took part in my first weekly meme (The Broke and the Bookish’s Top Ten Tuesday). I also branched out a little from just reviewing, with posts on my love for Gail Carriger’s books, musings on re-reading old favourites, and I even posted a basic cake recipe.
I had 35 books on my to-be-read (TBR) pile for 2016 (pictured) and I managed to read…
- Atlantia by Ally Condie
- The Night Itself by Zoe Marriott
- Cinder by Marissa Meyer
- Scarlet by Marissa Meyer
- Dodger by Terry Pratchett
- Gumption by Nick Offerman
- Blood Red Road by Moira Young
- Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
Whoops! But in my defence, I got sidetracked by False Hearts, The Martian, Allegiant, The Rest of Use Just Live Here amongst a few other books I bought and read through the year, but never reviewed. Still, that means there’s 27 books still glaring at my from my shelves…plus a few others that I bought/got given for Christmas.
That’s normal right? For your TBR to grow instead of shrink? It’s not just me. Right? Right?!
