I haven’t done a book haul post before, but I figured I’d acquired so many new books recently I just had to shout about them.
I walked into my local Waterstones recently and walked out with Uprooted by Naomi Novik and Broken Sky by L. A. Weatherly.
I LOVED the Temeraire series, so I’ve got high hopes for Uprooted, and I grabbed Broken Sky because you can’t just get one book on a buy one get one half price offer. Although it did mean I spent about an hour wandering around reading blurb after blurb. It was an hour well spent I think!
Ones I was given
There are many joys in having bookworm friends:
- You have someone to talk books with
- You have someone to give the ‘this-book-just-destroyed-my-soul’ books to, to share in the pain
- You can share books between you
- If you help them clear out their bookcases, you get first dibs on the books they don’t want anymore
These came about from number 4: My friend wanted some assistance reorganising her bookshelves and clearing out some of her epic collection. With the promise of books as payment, it was not an offer to be refused!
Also, I really, really, really enjoy organising book shelves. It’s a thing. I’m not ashamed. It’s very therapeutic.
Here’s my haul from that day:
Spellwright by Blake Charlton (looked intriguing)
The Romulan War by Michael A. Martin (I think I’m alone in this…but I quite enjoyed Star Trek: Enterprise!)
Revan by Drew Karpyshyn (LOVED the Knights of the Old Republic game and do not care that the books aren’t canon anymore)
The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger (I read it years ago, but I don’t own a copy)
Barking and My Hero by Tom Holt (I’ve read his other books and they’re just so much fun…although not loving the cover art on My Hero)
The Martian by Andy Weir (I’ve wanted to read this one for AAAGES! Loved the film and was intrigued by the book from Jordon @ Simply Adrift’s review)
I entered a giveway over at Over the Effing Rainbow and I won! I won this beautiful copy of Laura Lam’s newest book: False Hearts!!
My TBR pile is now officially terrifying!
Also I have no idea which one to read first #bookwormproblems.
